"We're thrilled to have One Light Global as part of our community. One Light Global has met our rigorous vetting standards for trust and community support, and we're committed to providing tools, training, and support as they learn, grow and become more effective," said Alix Guerrier, CEO of GlobalGiving. "GlobalGiving donors value the opportunity to support nonprofits like One Light Global, knowing that they'll get regular updates about how their donations are put to work."
"South Sudanese refugees in Bidi Bidi camp, Uganda, are dependent on aid with few job opportunities. Despite the horrifying conditions that led these courageous people to flee their country, hope remains. An extraordinary refugee, Rose, has a long-term plan to create economic freedom in the camp for 300 women every year. This project funds machinery, materials, & training to kick-start Rose's embroidery business, an inspired vision that will provide vocational training and jobs for her community.", said Elizabeth Torkington, project leader at One Light Global. "Visit our project, 'Give Hope to 300+ South Sudanese Refugee Women' to learn how even $10 can make a difference. We're $9,179 away from our overall goal of $25,000."
