WE ARE SO EXCITED TO INVITE YOU TO THIS GROUND BREAKING PROJECT WITH THE HOPI NATION:
Through a series of synchronous events, we were blessed to be invited to the Hopi Nation in AZ to help fulfill a dream they had been holding a long time, which is also our dream: to co-create a sustainable community using traditional cultural wisdom and modern technology. To create a model of how humans can live that is in harmony with the earth, founded in indigenous wisdom, and meets modern needs without harming the planet. A sustainable community that is not dependent on aid, limited resources, fossil fuels or compromising integrity and values. We know there is no way to create something that works for all without incorporating all of our gifts, ideas, and perspectives in the process.
This Giving Tuesday we are thrilled to announce we are fundraising to build the first building of this community: a Hopi-speaking Elementary School and Elder Center. The structure will be built in the traditional style using local materials and renewable energy technology. Students will learn cultural arts, language preservation, and how to live in harmony with each other and the land. It will serve as a model for us all.
