Grateful for your light

Thank you for being part of our One Light family. As we sit down with our friends and families to give thanks, we remember all of you - the lights that make our work in the world possible. It has been an incredible year for One Light Global and we could not be more grateful!

On Thanksgiving we hold in our hearts our indigenous brothers and sisters who carry so much wisdom, and yet live in extreme poverty. This Giving Tuesday, we're collaborating on a special project with the Hopi Nation. It will help children and the elderly, and preserve endangered cultural wisdom while implementing sustainable technology to meet modern day needs.

Join us on Facebook to find out more and MATCH YOUR DONATION this Tuesday!

This year you have helped our One Family in so many ways ...

Here are a few highlights:

Thanks to your Mother's Day support, Rose’s collective in Bidi Bidi refugee camp now has a maize grinder! It previously took 1 hour to grind 5 kg of maize by hand. Now it only takes 3 minutes!

That’s a 95% decrease in labor time! This means many more vulnerable refugees now have access to food.

This precious gift of time can now be spent pursuing other entrepreneurial endeavors, education, and family-care duties.

Our amazing high school student partners in San Diego, Nicole-Ann Drew and the Refugee Aid Club, raised enough funds to provide new, clean clothing for 460 children and unaccompanied minors in Zone 5!

We continue to be blown away by your support of our GlobalGiving campaign for Rose and her women's collective. With the $15,000 you've generously given thus far, we're in the process of planning construction for the sustainable vocational training center - which will soon house modern embroidery machines and provide valuable training and employment for HUNDREDS of young women!

Thanks to you, we were able to provide $1000 of Christmas gifts to some of the poorest and most vulnerable children in still badly affected areas of Puerto Rico!

Most exciting, our plans to build the first ever sustainable city in a refugee camp - in Bidi Bidi Settlement in Uganda and now also at an indigenous nation - continue to unfold through logistical successes, exciting partnerships, and daily steps forward. Thank you for being a part of the journey!
