Plant seeds with us

Planting seeds, from Uganda to Arizona

Your contributions are making a difference. Here is how your Light is beginning to manifest results in Bidi Bidi refugee camp in northern Uganda and in our newest partnership with the Hopi Nation in Second Mesa, Arizona.

Oh, beautiful harvest!

Just last week we received great news from Rose, the leader of GWU Women's Collective, our partners in Bidi Bidi. The cassava cuttings we funded last planting season have come to harvest! 264 kilograms of cassava root were harvested, and still there is more to come. This is in Zone 5 of Bidi Bidi, where just a few months ago a riot broke out because the distribution site for food rations was relocated. Many vulnerable refugees in Zone 5 were unable to trek the distance to receive their rations. Rose and her women are choosing to manifest their own solutions by cultivating this community farm to break the cycle of dependency.

Seeding connection in the Hopi Nation

In a solution-driven effort to synergize Elder and Youth, old with new, and tradition with innovation, we couldn't be more honored and excited to partner with the Hopi in Second Mesa, Arizona. Just this past weekend, our founder Zoe and project coordinator Angela were on the ground in the Hopi Nation, connecting with our Hopi partners to secure the land for building a combined elder center and elementary school!  To learn more and donate, click here!
