#GivingTuesdayNow
Due to COVID19 and these unprecedented times, a new global day of giving has emerged, #GivingTuesdayNow -- and that's TODAY! Indigenous communities are among the hardest hit by COVID19 and we've already made a huge impact at Hopi Nation with your donations! Today's donations will go to continued Covid19 related support at Hopi Nation. Thank you as always for your generous hearts and touching the lives of the families and communities we serve!
Our COVID19 response fundraiser was met with such an outpouring of love and generosity! Thank YOU to all who donated and supported in so many ways to make our recent delivery to the Hopi community a success.
Last week we went shopping for all the supplies we couldn't order and delivered them at a meeting point in Flagstaff. Our Hopi partners were able to give the donations to 29 families in their community after setting up a swift and efficient distribution center. It was a great success and they thank you all and will keep you in their hearts. There is only one small store at Hopi Nation for 3 villages and the entire area has been on lockdown with curfews, so they were greatly in need.
Through your generosity we were able to supply: almost 300 masks, 1000 gloves, tons of cleaning supplies, toiletry items, food supplies such as carrots potatoes, onions, rice, beans, flour, salt, meat, eggs, water, baby supplies, toys, and so much more!
Thank you also to those who made in-kind donations:
Tina Malia and community - thank you for your for vitamins and immune support supplement donations!
Dazzia Szczepaniak- thank you for buying & mailing 90 masks!!
Lara Howe- thank you for sewing 130 masks for the nation - your masks are already being used daily by children and the elderly!
Heather K. Parris (who runs a nonprofit called Chain Reaction) donated 3 kids bikes and delivered them to Flagstaff with us!
EL Carte- thank you for your amazing generosity and contributions of food and supplies and also for driving up to our meet up with the Hopi at our drop off point.
Yulamay Ulrike - Thank you for your beautifully made masks and delivering them to Flagstaff helping us unload and reload! (special thanks to Joanne’s Art for the fabric for the kids masks)
Jan Carlos Byl - Thank you so much for donating the handmade hand sanitizer! It was greatly appreciated and much needed during this time.
Perry Cola - a huge thanks to Perry for your unending patience and advice with parts for our solar and greenhouse setup, and so much much more!
Mario Cruz for beads and leather for the kids .
Native Seeds in Tuscon- A HUGE thank you for all of the work that you do to protect rare and heirloom seeds, and for providing seed for communities to establish food sovereignty.
And, of course, a beautiful thanks to the Hopi elders who untiringly support their community and brighten our lives with their open hearts!
We will be doing shopping and delivery for Verde Valley Sanctuary later this week! Update coming soon!
Thank you from our hearts to yours, or as they say in Hopi Language: Askwile.

VOLUNTEER PLANT AND BUILD WEEKEND -- COME IN SEPTEMBER!
Before COVID19, we were gearing up for our Volunteer Plant and Build weekend with our Hopi partners and friends, which some of you immediately signed up for as soon as we posted about it. We were touched by the outpouring of support and were so excited for the event to take place in late April. Then the shelter-in-place order hit and the event was postponed. Inspired by the emergency fundraiser results and the ever-present nourishing life-force we feel when interacting and connecting with our Hopi family, we have rescheduled the event in hopeful optimism for the weekend of September 12 - 13, 2020. Now more than ever has the need for Earth and community connectedness become so evident in our lives, and we look forward to diving deep that weekend with Hopi youth and wisdom keepers in their land that has not been forgotten. Click here for more details planned that weekend on our blog!
From all of us at One Light and the communities we call our family, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. May you all be safe, well, and feel the interconnected Light in all of us.
